I could be wrong but I think that as long as you have a doctor's note, they really can't do anything about you being out for a legitmate illness. I would suggest that you consult with an employment lawyer. A simple consultation should be fairly cheap. It should also buy you peace of mind. Employers will do whatever they think they can get away with. Educate yourself on what your rights are and then let your employers know you have done so. If you do decide to consult with an attorney, make sure it is an employment law specialist. A non-specialist may not be current on the latest developments.
