Hi Toni -

The test I was referring to is called - colonic transit test. It is one of the least painful/involved GI tests. All you do is take a capsule that has tiny rings that can be picked up on x-ray. You have an x-ray done at particular intervals - usually one a day - until the rings have passed. If they are still in the colon after 4 days the test is considered abnormal. Of course these are the specifics in my area - in your area of the country the x-ray intervals and what is considered abnormal may be different than here. The best MDs for info/treatment on this include - GI Specialists, General Surgeons, and GI Surgeons.

I hope this helps - and if you have any more questions let me know. In the meantime I am going to try and locate the disk that has my old bookmarks.

Tina
