Re: Gloria-How do I know if it's obstructed?

Hi Gloria, Thanks for the response. No, they haven't explained why it is taking so long for my bowels to get regulated again. I know I am doing all the "right" things, and still am frustrated by the problem continuing. I do have an appt. with a new PCP next week and am hoping to get a referral to a colon specialist to get this checked out. I am NOT looking forward to the tests they do for this however, LOL

I am thinking the (what they called "massive") adhesions they lysed during my last surgery on 9/15/99, which were grown around my upper intestine near my gall bladder/liver (I got the adhesions when I had my gall bladder removed 10 years or so ago), have grown back, and are somehow blocking (partially) or slowing down movement from there into lower intestines.

How else to explain why an xray showed, after 7 days, lots of stool in upper intestines but nothing at all in lowers? This after a week of taking prescription laxatives, metamucil, gallon of water a day, eating the right foods, etc.
