This is exactly what caused all my adhesions! I had "Chronic Appendicitis" with regular flare-ups for almost ten years. My appendectomy about a year ago took over three hours because of all the scar tissue and adhesions. It was a long time before he could even find the appendix. So it didn't surprise me when my 1st lap was done that my pain was caused by adhesions.

I suspect that a lot of patients seen in the ER complaining of intense chronic pain in the right quadrant, but do not show the other classic symptoms of appendicitis like a rising fever, vomiting, etc. actually are more like me. This is where physician education about adhesions and recurrent appendicitis would benefit healthcare greatly. I know people are out there who are in pain but the only thing they are told is that it is all in their heads. It makes me weep.

Peace ~ Meg
