Ruth, I think it's unfortunate that because you have read and researched something that it is viewed as a deficit rather than an asset. I'm sorry that happened to you. If I were a med, I'd look at it as my patient looking on their own for solutions. Some doctors have such a power monger problem. It's too bad.
