Yes, I have nerve damage on the left side that is in my back and extends
down into the left leg. I've had eight surgeries, and like most others I too
have been told that surgery isn't an option again unless something happens
that is life threatening, and to have surgery again is also life
threatening. After my last surgery I almost died due to some "unknown"
infection that was never found, had a fever that went up to 107. I too, have
tried every form of treatment known over the years, and still have the pain,
some days worse than others. It's a tough life, for sure. I've had PT which
helped briefly, but basically nothing has helped. The only thing I can
suggest is pain management and limit your activity, those things that you
know are gonna make you hurt worse. I know sometimes that's not always
possible though. This nasty disease has taken my life from me, and I just
try to deal with it day by day (some days not so well) I had to quit working
finally, I just couldn't handle it anymore and did get approved for SSDI.
Luckily, I have a very supportive family, and finally have a family doc that
does listen to me.
One thing to think about, or have checked is for pelvic floor disorder. You
would think most gyn's would recognize this, but I found that they don't.
This is where the pelvic floor muscles stay in a constant state of spasm and
tight like a rubber band. It causes spasm, leg and back pain and can extend
into the abdomen. I have this as well. Took many docs to figure that one
out, and I had Botox to the pelvic floor which did help quite a bit with
that issue but still have the pain due to the extensive adhesions.
Life with this is so difficult, everyday.
Wishing you a "less" pain filled day,
Dawn
