Hi My Gyn referred Me to Another GYN Surgeon (at another hospital) because My previous GI surgeon would go into the OR with her... His words were I am not gonna hold your hand... So she called Me and said she was referring Me to a Gyneacologist-Oncologist, who she felt would be a better choice for Me...   I applauded her for doing this....   BUT  I was disgusted with the GI surgeon as he had done 2 hernia repairs ... I had trusted him, but would never again...   I was told it was hospital politics....     I am just happy my Gyn, referred Me out of it.... Geri ________________________________________ From: IAS Admin (Tracy) <tracy.joslin@adhesions.org> ________________________________________ To: Multiple recipients of list ADHESIONS <adhesions@mail.obgyn.net> Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 8:45:17 PM Subject: Test turned out OK???

I agree 100 % with this... (Especially since I have had this happen myself to many times to count!!!)   Oh, Juli, and I would also add this.  After having surgeries done by gynos, I also would not want to have surgery with a gyno unless there was also another doctor or surgeon present who was gastro-oriented.  I have read on more than one occasion that often gynos entirely ignore the abdominal area.  If you've read Karen Steward's book, this happened to her daughter.  Gynos either feel their area of responsibility is only the reproductive part, or they are simply uncomfortable or lack proper knowledge to deal with the GI areas.  I would never have surgery again with a gyno only.  Better to go with another type of surgeon if you can't have both, in my opinion. !
