Katie, The pain doctors and my family doctor all told me to eat lots of fiber to keep my stool soft and moving. What kind of doctor told you that a high fiber diet causes the stool to bulk up and become "trapped?" For all I know, eating high fiber may have been the reason a Cat Scan showed hardened fecal matter stuck inside my colon. I find eating prunes, drinking prune juice and giving myself an occasional enema works fine for keeping regular. Now that you've told me a high fiber diet has a negative affect, I'll go to a low fiber diet to see if it helps me not to have so much pain.

It's hard to know which doctor one can trust. Thank God for the internet. At least we have a source to try to find answers/help. If I'd known in 1993 what I know today, I never would have had the surgery that has taken away a normal life and leaving me with massive adhesions. I could really go back to April 1, 1976 for the time I first started trusting doctors. Millions of women placed their trust in doctors who informed them breast implants were safe. Unfortunately, FDA is again allowing silicone breast implants to be used. I believe women must now sign some type of disclaimer and change the implants out every 5 years or so. There's a website http://www.siliconeholocaust.com that tells women's stories and show graphic pictures of deformites women have experienced. My story is on the adhesion quilt but I haven't updated in since 2001.

Well, it's very late so I'll sign off for tonight. Let's all pray for each other that there will be a medical breakthrough and we will all be healed. Take care and God Bless all of you.

Linda, I noticed that you wrote that you are on a high fiber diet? I have been told for the last year that if you have adhesions, you should be a on a low fiber/low residue diet because fiber causes the stool to bulk up and become "trapped" in the bowels and can cause more pain and problems.

Were you ever told this?

Thanks,

Katie
