Hi Lou... My Bowel Perforated in Feb 2000...(What a way to start New Millenium..) complete with Septic Shock and a tempprary colostomy.. and Hartman's Procedure to reconnect bowel in September 2000...
Have had 2 Hernia repairs since.. both didn't last... and NOW need a major hernia repair.. (but I am avoiding it...)
I have had pain ever since it all healed.. it was delayed closure.. No time to close in the OR as I was dying and needed to get in ICU and on life support..
Spent 2 days in ER last week and NOT one Physican mentioned possibility that pain was from Adhesions.. I got a million and one other suggestions including a triage nurse who said I was probably just constipated... and let me sit in a wheelchair for 3 hours...I didn't get any attention until I nearly passed out.....
Ontario Health Care has sure changed in the last 20 years... So Sad... A wonderful system gone bad from abuse and fraud....
Now if you are low income you can't get good care... It is DEFINITELY a 2 Tier System...(I was a social worker who had to quit work as I was just too sick...)
