Barium Sulfate is not the same stuff that they use for colonoscopies. Barium Sulfate is also known as "Redi-Cat" or "Redi-Cat 2" and they use it for CT scans and also for barium enema studies.

A nurse told me that it is actually a mineral. Think "made from rock" or like concrete. Which explains why you need to expel it ASAP after a study or you will have major problems.
