Hi Ann-Marie, I'm sorry to hear that your painlevel is still so high. Not only have you dealt with surgery, but also a blood transfusion. I have never heard of annual laparascopies to "keep on top of things". I would sit down with the dr'd and ask exactly what they may be doing every year, and what they hope to accomplish. I think it takes about a month for the abdominal swelling to do down. I am happy that things are being monitored on you, and it sounds as if you have gotten good care, especially the nice bath with your hubbies help. Aren't they wonderful? My husband is so good with me, and takes good care of me. When I had my surgeries in Germany, he stayed with me most of the time, even spent the night with me. You know I wish I could get my bowel unstuck, since before during and after BM's I rip and tear. I just hate it .Take Care. Cheryl D.

Had my 3 week post opp laporotomy check up - final 5 steri stiches came out and have just had a wonderful bath with hubbies help. Had to go back to hosp Tues for a blood transfusion - the iron tabs were doing no good and I was very lethargic. Saw the 2 surgeon's who opperated - had to have both incase I had to have a colonsotomy - my gyne surgeon called in a gastro specialist. They said they did what they could but had to come out after unsticking the bowel as there were too many risks. They did say they used a barrier in a hope that the many dense adhesions left may not stick so much. They did mute that it may be an idea to have annual laparoscopies to 'keep on top of things' - does anyone else do this? Pain level is still high - still not sure if it is soley from surgery or if adhesion pain is still involved. Abdomen is still very extended - will see in time:( Anyho - at least things are being monitored which is fine, just fine:) Hope everyone is having a pain free day - one can hope hey! Gentle hugs alround Ann-Marie
