active endo causes irritation, which in turn causes inflammation, which causes a healing response in the body that, in those of us that tend to create an abnormal amount of adhesions, gets out of hand - when there is an injury (the irritation) the body starts to respond and repair by creating a fibron (building block of tissue) on which to start healing irritated tissue. Once the tissue begins to regenerate, the fibron response is turned off and tissue repair continues. With adhesions, the fibron repsonse gets left "on" and keeps building on itself - thus the fibronous adhesions we all deal with.

endo=irritation=inflammation=healing responsehesions

Adhesions continue to "mature", thicken, nerves and blood grow to support the new adhesive tissue. Abdominal organs become stuck together, pulled out of place, unable to freely move and perform as normal organs, get attached to each other and to the abdominal wall.

OUCH!

The reason we all feel bound up is because we are bound up.

Keep researching - learn all you can - ask for a copy of your records from each and every Doctors visit and keep your file up to date - Learn about inflammation and how to keep your body healthy through diet and exercise and supplements. Anti-inflammation lifestyle is our first defense against adhesion related disorder. NO ONE knows how to stop the overactive response that causes us all to have overgrowths of adhesions in our bodies. But, we can keep inflammation to a minimum and stay as healthy as possible between surgeries for lysis of adhesions and the list of other necessary surgeries for ARD.
