Back on December 26th we sent an email to the forum and said we're changing the way we're moderating it. Basically it was either do that or shut it down because using a moderator to read and approve and forward to the board every message was not responsive and timely enough. We were down to only a couple posts a month. It had been working this way for nearly 4 years now.

So we changed it and actually no surprise there has been a lot of pent-up demand for this forum. My guess is it will not stay this way and the volume will drop to a manageable level in few weeks.

If you unsubscribe you can continue to read the messages at the website at: http://www.adhesions.org/forums/message.htm

However, to send a message you must be subscribed to the forum. If you send a message and are not subscribed it will be returned to you notifying you that you must first subscribe to the forum. This is how we are controlling the forum so only relevent messages appear on it.

Please keep that in mind before unsubscribing from the forum.

There are couple of alternatives. You can change your subscription to "digest" format which is 10-12 messages in one email once a day except lately with so many messages there have been multiple digests a day but normally it will only be one a day. But, digests can be more difficult to read then individual messages and difficult to reply to a individual message.

Also, you can set your subscription to "postpone". This will stop all emails to you but you remain a member of the forum and can still post messages and read them from the website. This might be the best option for those of you who only want this forum by the website.

All of these options including unsubscription are at: http://www.adhesions.org/forums/listcmds.htm

Lastly, keep in mind that these very long messages that include many replies are difficult to read. Better to take out all the formatting and not include more then the relevent portion of the text that you are replying to. Makes it much easier to read messages. Use line spaces to break into paragraphs. A paragraph several hundred words long is almost impossible to read.
