I, like you, have been dealing with hospitalization for sbo for 3 years. Until recently I was in the hospital about three times a year. For the last 6 months I have been using milk of mag at the first onset of symptoms along with gasx and have avoided two hospitalizations. I had been reading some studies online that suggested that this approach had worked on some patients in china and also that when hospitalized for sbo their stays were shorter than for patients that used just the ng tube, pain meds and hydration. >From my own perspective diet and weather don't play a part but I think
stress does and I think that exercise helps keep the "episodes", as we call them at our house, down. Three times a year seems to be a magic number for me. But I just avoided two so I hope I am on to something.
