Debbie, I do not think there is a right or wrong, it all depends on your pain level. After 6 years of pain, I was taking 6 -7 80 mg of oxycontin per day.After being on possibly just about everything for the pain, this is what worked for me at that time. Of course also is the fact I needed an increase over periods of months as I was becoming tolerant to the medication. Bonnie
