My first experience with adhesions was after a tah/bso from endometreosis.(I found out later Endo contributes to adhesion problems.) I had very little problems to non after that surgery, they did use barrier. Several years later after a bowel obstruction and Gallbladder surg is when the adhesions got worse. I ended up with an Adhesion specialist in Pa. I'm not 100%, but it's not from the adhesions, it's from my surgeons here waiting too long to take care of the adhesions, thus damage to the bowel. MY Last surgery just for adhesions went pretty well, I'm doing a lot better. He used a wrap, and their are even newer barriers that are on the market since then.(one year ago.) I've never had anyone tell me that the barriers wouldn't work. I'm sure my Obgyn doc would have said something. He's a good friend and knows I'm a nurse. Good luck Just make sure if you have to have anything done that you get someone who deals with adhesions often and know what they are doing. M
