I am currently unemployed due to the severe and life altering pain of
abdominal adhesions. I started Pain Management in February. The
narcotics make me literally unable to drive a car. All freedoms have
been suspended, and no Doctor wants to go in and try to give me any
relief (I've had 7 surgeries in 4 years). Reading these forums makes me
understand why. I have applied for SSI, received my "first denial", and
am currently under appeal. I plan on hiring an attorney to help me win
this. I had been working since I was 14 years old (am 41 now). I used
to make over 30,000 dollars a year. Now I can't even take 30 steps
without falling down from the pain. I had no idea there were so many of
"us". Men, too! May God Bless you all. This is REAL LIFE for us, and I
have been informed it isn't going anywhere. It's encouraging to hear
that we are winning attention from Social Security, and winning our
benefits. It gives me hope. Thanks for sharing, everyone.
