I can answer the question about what pain meds you are "allowed" to be
on while pregnant. I tried getting pregnant through artificial
insemination. It didn't work, but while I was trying I was seeing a
pain management doc as well because I had to be on the meds allowed
during pregnancy. The only ones that are known not to cause problems
are the ones associated with percocet, ie- roxycet & the long release
one (I dont remember the name). Those meds are safe during pregnancy.
That said, I suggest to anyone who is trying to get pregnant & has pain,
that they should work with a pain management doc as well as an RE. It
is importnat to make sure that the medication you take is safe for
pregnancy. You do not want to find out that you are a couple of weeks
pregnant & have been taking something that can be dangerous during
pregnancy. Most of the narcotics are most dangerous during the first
trimester.
Good luck,
