Narcotics & Constipation

What do all of you do to combat the constipation
that often accompanies the use of narcotic pain
meds? I already have a problem with chronic
constipation and impaired intestinal motility.
When I am forced to use narcotics for pain
the situation is compounded. I cannot tolerate
Miralax, Metamucil or Zelnorm due to the
horrible bloating and gas they induce.
What do you use that you find effective?
