Hi Jenn,

I've had both open and lap procedures, and the recovery time has varied greatly. I have been discharged as early as same day...to staying 10 days from complications. Each situation will prevent a different outcome, so I guess it's hard to predict how long she'll need to stay. Pain wise..the more they cut away, the worse I felt, but again, everyone's pain tolerance level varies.

I have always been under general anesthesia for these procedures.

If you have a good surgeon with experience in adhesions, have faith in him to do the right thing. As much as we don't like to be "opened" up, they can see better and work easier with less risk of a perforation. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

Jeanne
