Thanks so much for responding. A few days ago, my husband was worrying so much about me. He insisted that I take suppositories and oral medical to see if we could move my bowels. I was so miserable and he was concerned because everything I drank or ate I felt even sicker. Well, after a little over an hour of miserable cramping, I finally went to the bathroom. I actually lost 6 lbs just from moving my bowels. My stomach went down by a noticable differenence. At this point,

I no longer have brown eyes... they're blue now. (just kidding)

Since then, I tried to eat at least a meal or two a day to see if the backup would occur again. Sure enough, my stomach is swelling again. It hurts to the touch. It's been 6.5 weeks since my hysterectomy and I have taken stole softeners almost everyday since the day I returned from the hospital from surgery.

Also, I am severely allergic to opiates, so I have taken no pain medication as pain meds close up my throat. I did the entire surgery along with the past 5 back surgeries with no pain meds.

I will be contacting a GI specialist on Monday so I can get to the bottom of this problem.

Thanks so much for your concern and suggestions.

Tina

Hi Tina, i get swelling sometimes, but not often. When i do, i feel like im gonna explode! im wondering if maybe you should try stool softners? Since u just had recent surgery your intestines may still be "asleep" or not functioning properly due to the pain meds(Assuming you are taking them?)

I cant believe your doc thinks it in your head!! Cant he see your Tummy??? Yes, go look for another Dr to get a 2nd opinion! Cathy
