Your doctor told you you could have sex 5 weeks after a hysterectomy? You should see another doctor!! Normal is 6 weeks, but if you have had an infection, it is normally extended another 3-4 weeks!
Depending on how you had your hysterectomy, vaginally or through a laparotomy (being cut wide open) your recovery time will differ.
Take your time, recovering. Don't do too much, and NO LIFTING heavy objects. This includes children! Rest a lot and hopefully you will be getting back to normal soon.
