I was doing a random web search on "phantom gallbladder pain" (this is
the term I've coined for the symptoms you've described in your post) and
found your posting. I, too, had my gallbladder out last year, however,
within months of the surgery, began having what felt like gallbladder
attacks again! Same spot, same intensity, only the pain now lingers
(after the acute attack) for several days -- can't take a deep breath
in, etc. Specialist couldn't find anything wrong and I too, think she
believes I'm nuts! I don't have any answers for you . . . I just
stopped complaining about it to the medical professionals because it is
apparent they don't know what it is or what to do. I figure if it were
life threatening, I'd probably be dead by now anyway -- and it doesn't
FEEL life threatening, just very painful! If you find out anything new
on the subject, please post.
Sincerely,
Linda D.
