I would strongly advise you to not allow an open surgery without and
emergency situation. It causes more problems than it solves. Most
problems can be solved laparoscopically. Even bowel resection if it is
necessary. Please visit the website http://www.adlap.com. I found these
doctors through this website. These doctors strongly advocate against
open surgeries for treatment of adhesions. I had my sixth surgery with
Dr. Reich and Dr. Gerhart in late August and as of now I still feel
great. I hesitate to say that I am "cured" until more time has passed,
but so far, so good.
These doctors have significantly different techniques than most doctors
use. I have found that most GYN surgeons use techniques that are meant
for "typical" patients. I have long since learned that these
complications are not "typical."
I am so glad that I seeked out these specialists. It was worth the
expense and inconvenience of travel (I came from Michigan to
Pennsylvania). If you want more detailed information, please feel free
to e-mail.
