His most recent surgery was the open gall bladder procedure last Feb -- just under a year ago. The surgeon who did it found "everything was stuck to everything", after previous surgeries. I presume that's partly due to the bowel rupture and widespread infection he had following his colectomy. We have an appointment tomorrow for an ultrasound and meeting with the surgeon, to try to figure out what's going on. The pain is just above a former ostomy site; so I suppose other possibilities are a stricture or hernia. I posted just to try to get a little more first-hand information about adhesions. Thanks to those who responded.
