In Jan. '02 I found myself in the hospital w/ emergency surgery looming over my head... My lg. int. and part of my sm. int. had become necrotic from a adverse reaction of some BP medicine. 36 hr later, 10 mins of CPR and 2, 8 hr surgeries later my husband is at my death bed making final arrangements. I woke up 18 days later and slowly realized that something was terribly wrong. Since that time we figured that I spent about 4 months of the year in a hospital. Due to massive infections and a lot of time on a Wound-Vac machine I have so many adhesions that I basiclly walk around in a semi state of partial bowel obstruction. My last surgeon did some take down of adhesions during a hernia repair and noted in my surgical record that my bowel looked "matted together" but did not want to go there surgiclly. My questions are these..... Has anybody else out there been in this type of predictament and if so did they op to try laproscopic surg. to get rid of some of the adhesions and if so what were the results???? How the heck can I tell that I need to do something about this??? I mean sometimes the days aren't all that bad, but then that's always subject to change....Literally!! One Bowel movement and I can be in terrible pain for days again. Any ideas??? ty Julie http://www.kenmclean411@aol.com
