Hi Kay- My mom has been experiencing transient abd. pain, but her pain
is more like sharp stabbing pain than spasm-like pain. It sounds like
your MD is treating you for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Is that
true? There is a list of criterion for IBS, based on bm pattern,
frequency and form. For more info check out
http://www.aboutibs.org/Publications/diagnosis.html. Also, there are dietary
guidelines you can follow that may help (have you heard all this
before?) You could have IBS AND adhesions both, to complicate matters. I
am a practicing RN, and I knew about adhesions before, but I still don't
know about the constant pain vs transient pain of adhesions (which is
why I can to this website). If I find out any more info. I'll post it
here for you. Good luck and hang in there!
