Dear Sherry, It is my opinion that an abnormal amount of fluid buildup in the abdomen (left from the surgery) will not cause adhesions; but then I'm not a medical professional.

I do know that it's very important for surgeons to remove every trace of blood - no matter the size!!

If any blood is left within the body, the body will recognize the remaining blood as foreign and then will cause adhesions to form.

I WAS TOLD AFTER MY HERNIA OPERATION IN MARCH THAT I HAD A ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF FLUID BUILDUP IN THE ABDOMEN THAT WAS LEFT FROM THE SURGERY-EVIDENTLY THEY "WASH" YOU OUT WHEN THEY ARE DONE-THE ER DOCTOR WANTED TO DRAIN IT BUT THE SURGEON SAID NO-THE BODY WOULD ABSORB IT-WHAT IS YOUR OPINION-DO YOU THINK THAT COULD CAUSE ADHESIONS
