Cindy, Your story has a familiar ring to it....the one I have lived with my daughter. Thank God you are trying to find the answers with her! So many hurting people have no support and many have family members and friends that do not believe their pain. You know, as I know, her pain is REAL. Melissa could not work and was merely existing. Yes, she had endometriosis, but the 2 surgeries she had in the US only worsened her condition.........I was not told the adhesions were the debilitating factor of her sad state. I believe I am correct when I tell you a CT scan will not reveal adhesions. A laparoscopic procedure must be performed. The only GOOD outcome of Melissa's first surgery were the photos provided by the surgeon of a FUSED pelvis..........ADHESIONS.........the surgeon stated that he was surprised she had lived with such incredible pain! And to think that many are told that adhesions do not cause pain!! If organs are FUSED together--how can the body function properly?? It cannot! Thus, PAIN follows!!( I get angry at the doctors't that ignored Melissa's pain for 13 years)~ Dr. Daniel Kruschinski was the answer to our prayers. Melissa is no longer in pain and is FINALLY planning her life! Yes, it required a trip to Germany and no, our insurance did not cover it, but we would do it all over again tomorrow for the results of that trip. There is nothing like finally finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!! It seemed it was unattainable------then suddenly the miserable years fall away and you are left holding the prize! I am forever grateful to Dr. Kruschinski. He didn't ignore her pain or my questions. He reviewed her operative reports and emailed me back telling me he was sure he could help Melissa. You have asked for input, so I am only sharing our story....others may have a different story..............but now you know you are not alone.........many have searched for the answer to unending pain. I hope you find the answer-- for you and especially for your daughter. Best Wishes to you both, Karen -------Original Message------- From: adhesions@adhesions.org Date: Thursday, June 05, 2003 01:38:54 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ADHESIONS Subject: Re: A hysterectomy 'will not' cure endometriosis!! I have a daughter that will be 30 years old this October and she has had a tremendous amount of abdominal pain and has already had her gall bladder removed because they thought that was part of her problem. She was dignosed with a servere case of endometriosis a couple of years ago, but the operation has not prevented her pain. She has had a colonoscopy and other screenings, but still seems to be having the same servere pain in the same area. I was wandering if I could get your input on her situation and what you think her next step should be. She was told also by her OB/GYN doctor that it was likely the endometriosis would return. She is having a CT scan today to see if they can detect anything different. Please give me your input on this. Thank you.

is incorrect!! A hysterectomy will NOT cure endometriosis!! All a
hysterectomy will do is create more problems -- such as:

doctor is an Ob/Gyn does NOT make him or her an authority on endometriosis!!
Gynecologist take special training in order to help women, who have
endometriosis. They do not deliver babies! Their practice is limited to
endometriosis!!

NOT believe in the use of drugs -- such as Lupron, etc. They believe that a
woman has the "best chance" to be helped by perfoming a procedure known as
excision surgery." The best endometriosis specialists believe that "excision
surgery" is the best and most successful way to remove "every trace" --
especially all microscopic traces -- of endometriosis; and they actually
have the endometrial tissue examined by a pathologist - while the patient is
still in the operating room!

>>Excision of every trace of endometriosis gives a woman an excellent chance
to triumph over endometriosis. Unless "every trace" of endometriosis is
removed, there is a good chance that the endometrial implants will return
and...the implants will bleed and cause more scarring!! So nothing has been
gained!!
