I was first diagnosed with endometrioses and this disease caused the adhesions. Of course they have gotten much worse with the subsequent surgeries. I had no surgeries prior to the endo, but definitely had adhesions the first time they went in. I would imagine that this isn't the only way that adhesions get formed without surgery, but it's one explanation.
