News from Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette, WI: January 21, 2003

Karla is awake and spoke a few words once the intubator was removed. Karla expressed in a very weak voice that she was NOT happy having that tube down her throat! That's Karla! Bev was able to speak to her for a few breif moments and Karla's first words to here were, " This is a miracle!" She then asked Bev to get word to all on the IAS board that she will make it, and she knows all the prayers and support brought her through! She also said that she "visited" many places in her slumber travels, but was glad to be home and awake. ( Though she is not awake for to long, this time it is for need of rest!")

Karla is VERY weak, she cannot receive phone calls at this time, but greatly appreciates your words of encouragement via cards or email them to: bnb@new.rr.com and they will be taken directly to her.

Sincerely
