Lack of Oklahoma specialist

Dear Roo,

As I read your message, I remembered recently reading the article where Mark Martens, MD from Tulsa, Okalahoma was being interviewed.. I don't know anything about Dr. Martens' qualifications regarding the treatment of endometriosis and/or ARD.

Since you are searching for a doctor - and you are from Oklahoma - perhaps you will consider learning more about Dr. Martens. You may find information about Dr. Mark Martens on one of the Internet search engines ... such as: http:www.google.com/.

Here is the website regarding Dr. Mark Martens:

X> Prevention of Postoperative Adhesions...OBGYN.net Global Medical Director, Hans van der Slikke, MD. PhD (Netherlands) interviews Mark Martens, MD (Tulsa, Oklahoma)...October 2001

http://www.obgyn.net/displaytranscript.asp?page=/avtranscripts/asrm2001-martens

I am only aware of four surgeons in the United States, who qualify as being adhesion specialists. They perform surgery at New York City (Manhattan), Scranton, PA and Atlanta, GA. And there are three surgeons from Germany, who qualify as adhesion specialists...at Duisburg and Frankfurt, Germany.

The reality of ARD at this time is: NO surgeon can guarantee an adhesiolysis procedure will be successful - but the adhesion specialists, I just mentioned, are doing their best to give their ARD patients the BEST possible chance for success!!

I'm sure there must be more surgeons, who are doing their best to help adhesion-sufferers; but finding them is like "looking for a needle in a haystack."

Please let me know by email the result of your research on Dr. Martens. Thank you!!

In Friendship,

Helen D.
