What is the RIGHT thing to do if after a hysterectomy your doctor tells you, you have adhesions on a ovarie and says they can fix it if you want? I was there once. Atleast this doctor believes that adhesions cause pain! Do ya just handle the pain you have now or continue with surgerie with hopes that your not like the rest of us on this board?

HD> Jaynie, when you mentioned hysterectomy, etc. (above), are you referring to yourself or are you referring to a friend? Too many hysterectomies are done for the WRONG reasons. For example: Having a hysterectomy will NOT cure endometriosis!! Surgery - to remove adhesions from an ovary - is not going to prevent adhesions from reforming and de novo (new) adhesions from forming - and will probably lead to the removal of organs or other abdominopelvic problems.

HD> EACH and EVERY surgery WILL cause adhesions to form!! When the human body attempts to protect and heal itself following surgery - surgery of ANY kind - the body does this by forming adhesions to encapsulate anything that is foreign to the body !! Adhesion-formation is a completely natural and normal process!!

HD> Pain management by a pain specialist (an anesthesiologist, who is also qualified to treat chronic pain) IS the best that medicine offers victims of Adhesion related disorder.

My friend has just gotten back to work. Surgerie was in Nov.she had large fibroids and they had to do a large incision up and down intead of the usual smilley face. Wasn't an easy one. I have invited her to come talk to the experts. Maybe she will soon. Maybe this is a easy fix ? There must be some easy fixes that we don't here about because they don't need us? What do ya all think ? If you could do it all over again, what should we have done to not end up here, still in pain.

HD> There is NO EASY FIX for adhesions!! The best thing to do "to not end up here" is to NOT have surgery in the first place -unless diagnostic tests indicate surgery is necessary. All surgeries that are elective (not necessary) - such as tubal ligations, an unnecessary C-section, an unnecessary hysterectomy, etc. - will set that person up for developing adhesions!! Thanks sisters. Haven't gotten to catch up yet. I will investigate this Moore guy causing all this turmoil for ya all !!! feels good to be here again.

HD> It is not necessary to keep bringing up Dr. Moore's name!! Dr. Moore - like all doctors/surgeons - is just as frustrated as we, who suffer from ARD, are. He is taking a conservative approach; because after having performed surgeries, Dr. Moore knows all too well that adhesions are an expected outcome or complication of surgery - regardless of anything the surgeon does or doesn't do!!

My husband checks every morning to see if the CURE is posted !!! I may make the trip to Germany someday too.thanks again, Jaynie Jarvis

HD> For those who choose to seek surgery with one of the surgeons in Germany, these people will have the BEST CHANCE for success with their adhesiolysis procedures; BUT they also know - before having surgery - that NO surgeon can guarantee the outcome of their surgery.

HD> Those, who seek surgery in Germany, are pioneers. Even though they know that there aren't any surgeons, who can guarantee that they will be free of adhesions and adhesion pain, they know their surgeon will be using adhesion-preventive techniques that will help to lessen the chance for adhesion formation.

HD> A second look laparoscopy provides the surgeons in Germany with the opportunity to easily lyse adhesions that may have reformed after the initial adhesiolysis - and to apply more SprayGel, if needed. None of the surgeons in the United States offer SprayGel or a second look laparoscopy seven days after the initial ahesiolysis.
