Dear Mary Lou,
I am currently on 2 long lasting meds, Duragesic patch 75 and MS Contin
60 mg. For break through pain I use Vicodin 10mg I usually take 1 1/2
of them. Most of the time while I am active, (meaning I am up walking a
little or standing for a few mins. I usually just lounge on the couch
all day or in bed.)I have to take them every 2 hours. If I just take it
easy, I can get by with taking 1 1/2 every 4 hours. I am doing better
since adding the MS Contin, before that I was house bound and
practically bed bound. I also suffer depression, before the pain came
along so I take Paxil 40 mg & Buspar 30 mg. I occationally have to take
Ibuprophin 600 mg, Equagesic which is asprin based, or a muscel relaxer.
You are lucky that you don't have to take meds. The meds all cause
constipation. The constipation causes me more pain.
