They gave me ibuprofen 800 at first too...And I know it does not work for this pain. They also give me vicodin, it does take the edge off of the pain, but when I try to sleep, I am up every 2 hours cause the pain wakes me back up.
I am in the process of going to a pain management clinic. Lots in here have had success, or as much success we can get with this disease, at the moment.
Hang tough hun, and just keep hounding them for different meds, and if that doesnt work, get a new doctor. I did that SIX times
