I am glad you are here. So many of us have endo. Please know there are
other options besides the drastic step of hysterectomy. Unless you have
cancer I would research all the other possibilities. Once again I would
like to know how you we're diagnosed. I wrote another post today to
SHSSSS about endo.
Please let this doctor ( you said consultant, it needs to be an M.D.
preferably a GYN specialist or better yet an endocrinologist). You are
allowed to seek out a second opinion. Great things are starting to
happen on the enometriosis front.
I am living proof that a hysterectomy does not cure endometriosis. You
need a highly skilled laproscopic surgeon to TOTALLY excise it from your
body.
The web is just full of resources. Try http://www.bombobeach.com it is a
wonderful place to meet others in your state. The best approach to endo
I have seen on the web...a realistic approach to endo treament and a
full explanation of what exactly it is can be found at
http://www.womenssurgerygroup.com/conditions/Endometriosis/overview.asp
You need to do your home work now and not take statements like "you need
a hyst" from the doctor as you would words from god. It's your body and
you make the calls. Look at some of the stories on the quilt. See how
we listened to our doctors and ended up here with unnecessary surgeries.
I have had this disease for a long time. Please email me if I can be of
further assistance.
Love,
Dawn
