Hello Fellow ARD Sufferers, I would like to give you an update on the letters-to-the editor and ARD articles campaign that we started a few weeks ago. As of today, we are progressing well. Many of you have stepped up to the plate and I urge you all to continue this important effort. Our mission is far from being completed. Joanne Eslick, founder of The Australian adhesions Support Group, is currently talking to a journalist from her home town and a national magazine in Australia is considering a story about her adhesion experience.Annie Hawksley has done some radio interviews in Western Australia and another national magazine there is considering a story about her. In the USA, we have had 2 letters-to-the-editor published in Iowa. Many thanks to Shawna French and Marilyn Vaughan for their excellent letters. If you had submitted a letter to your paper and it was not published, please re-submit it. It is possible that it could be re-considered at another time. We need to keep the momentum going. The Press Gallery section on http://www.bombobeach.com has and will post all letters and articles that get published. If you have a spouse or adult child that would like to share their experience, living with an ARD patient, please have them consider writing a letter and posting it on the family section of The Austalian Adhesions Support Group. I am currently working with a reporter to publish an article in a central Ohio newspaper. I'm also contacting another newspaper in ohio. I know many of you have contacted the T.V. media and are frustrated with the lack of response. That is why we need to start with the print media to validate our mission. The Australian Adhesions Support site , http://www.bombobeach.com ,works in tandum with the IAS site. Both offer support in different ways to people. The IAS site offers statisical information on ARD and support while http://www.bombobeach.com provides ARD sufferers driven information and advice. The two message boards and the Chat Room offer umlimited opportunities for sufferers to communicate and support each other. In the 8 short months http://www.bombobeach.com has been in existence, it has amassed over 8,000 visitors. This shows you the different needs of all sufferers of this terrible affliction. Please continue the effort to help get our voices heard. And take advantage of the unique support available to all of us. Thank You and Comfy Hugs, Anthea
