I was given Ultram,and my doc warned me about it being addictive,even though it is not a narcotic. It hardly helped my pain,and I am not taking it right now. But the my doc is aware that it can cause an addiction. I belong to a different board,and some of the ppl on that board have complained of addiction also. I guess it has an effect like speed,give's some ppl a lot of energy.Laura
