Tish Re: When Friends Turn Away: We've all had the feeling of loss when people turn away.

Sweet Tish,

I wish they had something similar to the pregnancy suit they use to teach teenagers about how it feels to be pregnant. Something that could let them feel the frustration as well as the unrelenting pain. Especially the frustration of knowing you have so much to offer, intellectually and emotionally, but your body won't allow you to give!

When I was still working the hardest thing to handle was the "How are you?". I know that it is just meant as a greeting, but it was so hard to just smile and ask them the same...especially if they had some "minor" complaint (I know it was not probably minor to them, but no way was I going to be perceived as one of those people that always has to win the pain game, you know?).

It really hurts...these are the people we had been making plans to retire with up at the lake. Guess they've decided they didn't want to run a nursing home. sigh.

So, my sticky friend, I wish you love and pain free moments.
