MRI may help distinguish adhesions a little better. -------Original Message------- From: adhesions@adhesions.org Date: Wednesday, May 08, 2002 22:21:34 To: Multiple recipients of list ADHESIONS Subject: Pelvic CAT Scans, using contrast Hello, all! Today I had a pelvic CAT scan, with contrast. The Dr. ordered the pelvic scan without the contrast. But the tech said she was going to use the contrast, as it would make the scan show up better. I won't know anything til tomorrow. My questions... 1.) How reliable is a pelvic CT scan with the contrast? 2.) What can they see on the scan? 3.) Could distended bowel show up? Again today, I had a few tiny gusts of loose stool. It feels as if everything is laying in the left side where adhesions had been cut. I do at times get rid of gas, but such pain, mostly in that left side. I am just so terrified of any kind of obstruction. Other than cutting me open, are there any other tests? Thanks. Millie.
