Tomorrow, Kathy Gill (California) is scheduled to undergo an adhesiolysis (surgery for adhesions) in Germany.
Her surgeon, Dr. Korell, is a very skilled and very experienced laparoscopic surgeon! For more than 20 years, he has been involved in clinical research (involving adhesions and adhesion barriers) with the hope of being able to help his ARD patients to become as adhesion-free - and as pain-free - as possible.
Dr. Korell will be using the SprayGel Adhesion Barrier ( http://www.confluentsurgical.com/ ) at the conclusion of Kathy's surgery. SprayGel was approved in November 2001 for surgical use in Europe. Hopefully, SprayGel will prove to be successful in preventing the reformation of adhesions following Kathy's surgery.
