Susan, I had the 'lovely' barium swallow, last year. Oh, boy... I had a terrible time passing the stuff. I had to take milk of mag, and even then it was no picnic. Maybe the Dr. will try passing the scope into your stomach, first. I am by no means a medical professional, but do ask him about these tests. Good luck. Millie.
