I know exactly what you're talking about that a doctor/surgeon wouldn't believe the adhesion would return so fast after surgery! I had bowel obstruction after having a lapscopy surgery in 1993 then had a tumor on ovary in 1999 that were removed. When they cut me open, they saw alot of adhesions but closed me up and hoped it would dissolved by inserting a NG tube in me. It didn't work and had 5 resections bowel obstruction surgery which took 9 hours long and I wasn't expected to live. 6 weeks of hospitalization, went home and back in the hospital 13 hours later. Went home w/a suction machine, baker tube (it doesn't work!) and tube feeding. I still wasn't feeling well and had pain and ended up in the hospital in April, twice in May when that surgeon told me again and again, there isn't anything wrong w/me. I should give it one year for the 5 section to heal. So frustrated w/me, I went home, doped myself up w/over the counter pain relivers and sometimes I mix that w/cold medicine so it would knock me over. I lived that way for 1 year until I became very weak and was losing weight and got a 2nd opinion and was told I have parital obstruction and surgery is the only thing that may work but was warned of the complications. I didn't believe it at first. The surgery was a long 10.5 hours marathon. Adhesions from the colon to the rectum and was told I have 99.5% of not surviving after the surgery and all my family came home. I survived and spent 5 weeks in the hospital w/tube feeding and TPN and was removed after 5 months (the doctor told me I could be on tube feeding for years). They had to remove the ileum inestine which absorp the vitamines, fat, dairy products & sugar. I'm restrictedon diet for life. I take vitamins orally and have b12 shot monthly. I have not had problems w/adhesions since then. I now have Short Bowel syndrome. I don't wish anyone to go thru this but I'm semi-well, I work and have gone on w/my life. I know exactly what these people are talking about when it comes to adhesions. I was told to sue the previous surgeon that didn't believe me when I told him I still have discomfort w/adhesions. But I didn't and have gotten over the angery (Alittle). Chat w/me anytime at home doggie@mycidco.com. You can not copy this over to my email address. Traci
