Hi Kel,

Each of us will respond differently to various pain medications. My pain specialist says that just one drug alone isn't enough, and we should have a combination - what that combination is, can only be determined by trial & error. I take extra at night... amytriptoline which in larger doses is used for depression... I also have valium, to relax me. Really, you are better off to discuss this with your doctor or pain management specialist. All the professionals I have spoken to have told me that one drug alone isn't enough.

I have some "diversion therapy" ideas in the "How to Cope" section of my site, you are welcome to look there and see if anything there is of any use to you. In my experience, doing the breathing eaxercise when sharp and sudden pain occurs, slows down the heart rate, puts more oxygen into the blood and has a relaxing effect. This takes the edge off the pain.... you know how you see pregnant women on TV being told to do breathing exercises during labour pains??? Worth a try until you can consult with your doctor.

Love & gentle hugs Jo http://www.bombobeach.com
