In the past 15 years, I have had 4 adhesion surgeries to correct bowel
obstructions. My surgeon suggested he has not used a cloth barrier
because the 14 feet of small intestine is smooth. He said the cloth
barrier costs $500.00 for a small piece of it and he wouldn't know where
to place the piece on a smooth intestine. I don't want to have another
surgery in the near future. Does anyone have a list of the possible
options such as the adhesion barrier cloth, the adhesin gel and massage
therapy and their corresponding success rates? An estimate of costs
would also be helpful. Thank you for your time.
