I know this isn't going to be what you want to hear, but I feel as if I should say it anyway...for your daughter's sake.

Before you do anything....please go read my story on the quilt at http://www.adhesions.org . Up at the top of the page you will see the place where you can click on the quilt. My name is Karla N.

The reason I ask you to read my story is because I want to stop people from repeating my history. Once you begin to have adhesions they get worse with each surgery. There is no known cure...they keep coming back time after time. They can be extremely painful. Since there is no obstruction there is no need for your daughter to undergo surgery. Thank God for that! These doctors are actually preventing your daughter's condition from potentially worsening by not doing surgery. I understand that she is in pain. I sympathize with her immensely. What you need to do is obtain adequate pain management for her. If her doctor isn't willing to provide this then seek someone who is. There is a site that you can go to...I think it is something like http://www.widomakers.com but my computer is froze...except for this email. It is an excellent site to help you get the pain management that you deserve. It is your daughter's right to receive this treatment. Unfortunately we must point this out to our doctors to get it.

If you have difficulties getting to this site please let me know. Otherwise, please thank the lord that she isn't having more surgery.

I pray that you both receive some answers and that her pain is dealt with appropriately.

my daughter had a surgery in dec 98, they cut her whole abdomen vertically down, she had a meckles, then in dec 2000, she had a operation for a complete blockage due to an adhesion, no almost a year later, she is in extreme pain again, she spent 3 nights in the hospital last week, all normal blood, stats, ct scan showed a small possible kink, she was in major pain, they put her on morpheine, never really did give me an explanation, only that they would not operate as long as her blood work was normal and 3 way xrays were normal, anyway i took her to childrens hospital, they did a barium upper gi, the radiologist said everything went through fine, the specialist said that it could be a incisional hernia. She had started to feel better the last 2 days, she returned to school and tonight she is in the same pain again, i feel i have no where to go now, i know this pain is rea! l and she has another adhesion, she has only acted this way twice in 3 years and she needed operations both times. Any suggestions?????
