Dearest Karen:

I am glad that you are staying strong and will not give in to what your surgeon wants to do to you. Please find another doctor and get a second or third opinion. Are there pain specialists over there that will prescribe the adequate amount of pain medication that you may need to give you some time to think and sit back and figure out what your next step may be? I think you need time to think, get your pain level under control and then decide what your next step may be. I have decided to stay on pain management, for how long I don't know, but I know I tried laparoscopic surgery for my massive adhesions (nothing like you have) only once, but the adhesions came back and I am not willing to have another surgery until I see some new development which makes the odds higher that the adhesions will not return. Most of the time I am not in horrendous pain because I have the medication to keep it at bay, but if I did not have the medication, I am not sure what I would do, but I would not let just any surgeon cut on me, I would not allow a laparotomy (where they cut you wide open), and I would not allow them to take any more of my organs (having a hysterectomy was enough to ruin my life) and I am not about to let them do anything else to continue to ruin it. I see that Kaith Findley said that she will send you some names of surgeons in your area, so hopefully, you will find a qualified surgeon that will not even mention anything about a pelvic clearance. Please, please do not even consider this.

Kaith, do you have the name of any physician that will help her with the pain and be willing to prescribe pain medication?

Love,
