Hello,

Id been suffering bowel problems and after a sigmoidoscopy, was told it was IBS. At this time, I was also suffering very painful periods and ended up in surgery having a Lap & Hysterectomy in March 2000 for endometriosis and lots of adhesions that had effected the bowel badly.

My bowel never did seem to settle again after this operation and the IBS symptoms seemed to slowly get worse.

How ever in the last two weeks Ive been suffering more than normal, with nausea, loss of appetite, bloating, 2-4 bowel movements daily, cramp pains in lower abdomen (relived when bowels opened) and pain in upper right abdomen (near belly button) intermittently, worse on lying flat. Heartburn and belching also been big problem.

I feel its adhesions causing this, but Im being referred to a bowel specialist and a colonscopy has been mentioned. I guess if this test is negative, I would need another Lap to see if adhesions could be causing this? If so, is there any hope of getting rid of the darn things for good, or is this for life?

I live in the UK and would appreciate knowing a good surgeon for adhesions if you know of one?

Any info is appreciated, having read this forum my heart goes out to you all, so much pain & suffering without any cure:-( Surely there must be something, some answer somewhere in this day and age???

Gill

Many thanks Gill Minter
