Here we go again!

Hello All:

While I have not posted in a long time, I still have been dutifully monitoring the Board and all of its wonderful chit chat back and forth.

I have found out that I have more than likely developed adhesions again. I had my laparoscopic adhesiolysis done in April 2001, but have been developing the usual adheiosn symptoms the last few months. It starting getting really bad at the end of August - beginning of September. A CT scan done for a large abcess that was formed on my midline incision showed that the small bowel is stuck to the abdominal wall again. And it is excatly where it has been hurting. The pain is now more intense and widespread. And another bowel obstruction happened last Monday, though it wasn't sever and did not require hospitalization.

The good news in all of this is that my insurance company, which battled tooth and nail not to cover the last surgery (out of network), immediately approved me for this one. That was a HUGE weight off of my shoulders. In fact, the case worker wished me the best of luck and I think she even meant it!!

SO, Julie, me and the two kids are going to Scranton next Thursday to meet with the doctor and am tentatively scheduled for surgery the next day. If you all could shoot a little prayer my way next week I would appreciate it!!!
