Hi Karla, My first surgery with Dr Semertzides; he removed my gallbladder which had attrofied. (laproscopicly) While he was in there he took photos of my adhesions. The next surgery was to lysis the adhesions, which he did with a laperotmy. While he was in there he discovered that my large bowel was entirly to long. Something that surgeons should have noticed from the very begining. He didn't correct the problem at the time, because he didn't want to subject me to a colostomy. Something I was very glad to avoid. In the meantime he had two other doctors confirm the condition via hypaque enema, and colonoscopy. Oh yeah, he used about 600 square inches of intercede during the second surg. During the third surg he removed about 36 inches of large bowel, due to "Redundant Bowel Syndrome". I'll be going under the knife again next month, and it will be done laproscopiclly. He's going to clean up the adhesions from the bowel resection. By al;l accounta it should be the last, and I can go back to doing what I love. I'm seeing a psychotherapist right now, because I have some major anger issues. Not the least of which is being a medical professional, and being treated like crap by people who are supposed to be my peers. I got seriously depressed; I felt totally powerless. I'm doing much better, and the pain has decreased since the last surg. I can't help to believe that the doc was right about everything. Dr Semertzides has done extensive research on his own. You should know that the company that has that product in Europe has flown the doc there , so they could consult with him. He is also working with a company here on a new product. In addition to all that; The doc has 3 patents (I've verified it with my brother who is a patent examiner) One of the patents he holds is on the pocedure he performed on me during my second surg. Karla, I would travel the world to be treated by this man. Try to understand too, that he is trying to work in a system that is openly hostile to patient with ARD. My fiance' is a nurse, and we both have asked many questions. We both have total faith in Dr Semertzides. Send me an e-mail, and I would gladly exchange numbers with you. Good luck to you, with much love.
